Arayuz Youth Summit

Ready for Change?

As the Arayuz Campaign celebrates the completion of its 1st year, we invite you to our youth-focused event “Arayuz Youth Summit”. Until today, we have collected problems on various issues and conducted surveys on these problems. We have developed reports, information notes and policy recommendations. We have shared the data we have obtained in order to raise awareness and tried to create a public opinion in this field. We have tried to put pressure on young people to consult young people in decision-making processes. Now we are adding a new one to our efforts to eliminate the “Lack of Youth Representation”: Arayuz Youth Summit

At the Arayuz Youth Summit, we will discuss the lack of youth representation, the problems caused by the lack of representation and solutions. In our summit consisting of 16 sessions, we will discuss our problems, the current situation and the policies that can be implemented to change the situation in various sessions ranging from youth perception to youth representation at the local level, from universities in the struggle for representation to participation process designs in the political system, from youth representation in professional life to MPs in youth representation, from youth unemployment to youth migration, from organizations fighting against lack of representation to youth representation in the world. Our youth representation leaders will follow the summit throughout the summit in panels, discussions and presentations. Our “Young Representation Leaders”, to whom anyone can apply, will closely follow the summit. They will be able to share their criticisms, opinions and their own ideas on the issues discussed.

As we are about to fulfill our 1st year, we are opening a public discussion space. We invite young people, together with academia, civil society, politicians, to address the lack of youth representation and its consequences. We are aware that every decision, every practice and every unhealthy policy affects our future. We will work on the lack of representation until we can directly affect the practices that are the source of our concerns and our future. We will continue to work to raise awareness until we are at the decision tables. We will continue to produce solutions for our problems that are not sufficiently understood due to lack of representation through participatory processes. As the Arayuz Campaign, we invite you to this table where young people sit at the first chair. We believe in the power of discussing and building together. We hope to see you among us at the Arayuz Youth Summit on May 21-22-23.
