Table of Six Meetings and Youth Policies

The heads of the six parties, known as the Table of Six, come together at certain times to discuss the policies they will pursue. They have held six meetings so far and published five joint statements. The Arayuz Campaign team searched for answers to the questions of how much the Table of Six puts youth on the agenda and what are their youth policies. For this purpose, we analyzed the joint statements, the Consensus Text on the Strengthened Parliamentary System and the report published by the Commission on Institutional Reforms, which was established as a sub-commission. This analysis resulted in a briefing note.

The study included content directly targeting young people as well as various topics that are closely related to young people. According to the content analyzed, the main topics of interest to young people are as follows:

  • Fundamental Rights and Freedoms
  • Law Education
  • Judgeship and Prosecution
  • Participatory Democracy
  • Sustainability
  • Social Peace
  • Income Justice, Social State
  • Meritocracy

After compiling the content that concerns young people under these headings, a brief evaluation of the youth policies of the Table of Six was made. We will continue to follow the next meetings and activities of the Table of Six and what they will do for the youth.
