Dr. Laden Yurttagüler

Laden Yurttagüler received her undergraduate degree in Educational Sciences and Psychological Counseling from Boğaziçi University. She earned her master’s and PhD degrees from the Atatürk Institute for Modern Turkish History at Boğaziçi University. Her graduate and doctoral research focused on gender politics in Türkiye during the early Republican period (between the 1930s and 1950s).
She is currently particularly interested in the topics of participation and civic engagement. Her work emphasizes the relationship between participation in decision-making processes and individual autonomy. Similarly, she is engaged in empowering individuals and civil society organizations, with a specific focus on youth and women as target groups—addressing issues such as youth policy, body politics, and gender equality.
