Prof. Itır Erhart

Prof. Itır Erhart studied English Language and Literature and Philosophy at Boğaziçi University. She received her M.Phil. degree from the University of Cambridge and completed her PhD at Boğaziçi University. She is the Dean of the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul Bilgi University.

In 2008, together with five friends, she co-founded Adım Adım, a social initiative that now has 130,000 members and has raised 354 million Turkish Lira for NGOs through sports-based fundraising. She is also one of the founders of the transparency platform Açık Açık and the social enterprise Açık Açık Sosyal Girişim.

In 2014, she was selected as an Ashoka Fellow. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Theatre Cooperative, the Advisory Board of Esas Sosyal, the Board of Directors of Inogar, the Board of Directors of the Zehra Yıldız Foundation for Culture and Arts, and the Board of Directors of the Etki Çemberleri Foundation. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV).
